Stress

Boost is max. Speedo is pegged.

I HATE RACKET INSURANCE COMPANIES -PAGE 6,247

My mortgage company placed forced Windstorm Insurance on my house because I can't get an insurance company to write a policy for my roof. (It's old and doesn't have some bullshit government compliance certificate that is required after 1980 something.) I've gone down every avenue to try and take care of it without just spending cash to re-roof completely. (because in reality it does not need it) My house payment will go up $300 per month starting back from July something. What do I do? Buy a new roof or foreclose?
Then the light bulb went off. There is another hurricane in the Gulf. Whether it does just a little damage to the shingles OR rips the whole freakin' roof off, THEY have coverage on it now. THEY get to put on a new roof. I then have a certificate, a new roof, and get a cheap policy...no problem.

First Day of School

Monkey started a new babysitter. Bubba started 6th grade. The only hiccup was the bus missing Caleb after school. Monkey's babysitter went and picked him up. I just spent an hour reading and signing repetitious forms for school. Not bad for a Monday.

Projekt Revolution

Hey Vetter,

Chis Cornell joined up with Chester Bennington of Linkin Park on Saturday....they sang a few songs from Temple of the Dog. Then he was on the radio this morning talkin' about hangin' with Eddy Vedder and Kurt Cobain back in the Soundgarden days. I heard it was one of the best shows ever in Houston.

Jeep Refinish

Started on the project Saturday. Everything is easy to take off a Jeep. Some bad spots in the paint which is usual on these models. A few minor hail dents. No rust. Should be easy. We'll just do a panel at a time.

The night before school and new baby sitter starts.

Bubba's in bed on time.

Munckin thinks it's party time.

THE MOSQUITOS ARE TAKING OVER

I don't think they've been this bad since Allison. Poor monkey has bites all over her face. Where's the DEET truck?

Life is good when you're a monkey.

It's lunch time, we're about to go to Wal-Mart, and my dad wants to run for Mayor.

Poets and Pirates

We went to the Poets and Pirates concert on Saturday. I don't remember the first guy. Gary Allen rocked...He was my favorite. He's definitely a pirate. Tattoos and 'The Clash' shirt. Bass guitarist wearing a kilt. Look up The Clash if you don't know who they are. No one else could've pulled that off at a country concert. Anyway, I think everyone took a smoke, pee, and drink lots of beer break during Lee Ann Rimes. The girls liked Keith Urban...I missed him. Kenny Chesney was really good. He's the entertainer. Terry enjoyed him most of all, so that's what really mattered. She's his biggest fan...I'm sure of it. It was a really cool, large concert. Angela and I drank lots and lots of beer. We paid a good portion of Reliant's mortgage payment.

Dad turns 64 today.

Hope you have a great day!

Redbud Hooter

This guy seems to show up pretty often when we're out at night. He got very comfortable tonight with me taking pictures...kinda like he was posing. I think he even did the dirty bird touchdown dance. He looked very freaky though. I believe he's been here since I've been here. In the past, I've seen him on the street light post, and then a few times by the bushes in the median, by the corner store. One night, I heard and saw him a street over, while I was running. He was talking to another of his kind...like nothing I've heard before.
Andi and Keith were making not so convincing owl sounds too, while I was taking pics...like nothing I've heard before. He must've been confused, cause he stayed awhile.

I think he may be a Barred Owl or a Short Eared Owl.

Trombone

I invested in a very nice, new trombone for Caleb. I was impressed how delicately he handled it and how he removed all the fingerprints before he put it up. He's really excited. I think he'll do well. Maybe a scholarship to UT or one of those other schools:).

He's been playing guitar this week all day while he's home too.

Hayabusa Police Interceptor

I saw a Dickinson cop today with an '08 white Hayabusa patrol bike. This one's from Oklahoma. I didn't know they were using these. I wanna enforce speed limits on the interstate ;). Maybe it would be a good time to join the force.

My mom

We had a surprise party for mom on Saturday. She really wasn't expecting it.

Brett and the Jets

The word is he's going to play for the Jets. I don't think he's done. He just wants to play. Look at last years record. This is the same Brett Favre who just last season led his team to the NFC Championship game (and almost won it). The same Favre who had the fourth best completion percentage (66.5) while also having the third best average yards per completion (7.8). The same Favre who had the sixth best passer rating in the league—95.7. And the same Favre who passed for more yards than all but three quarterbacks. Green Bay built Green Bay around him. They should've kept him. He will show them.

Bath Time

More waves than we saw from Edouard.

Munchkin crawling over her mommy to try and get in the tub.

Lots of Rain

Nothing much came of the storm. Just lots of rain. I saw a reporter splashing in a puddle in a corner of a parking lot in Galveston, making it look like it was flooding. We got lucky again.

Edouard-Crazy Eddy is back

He's coming. As you can see, the eye is going to be driving up Main Street League City (518). Hopefully it won't get over Cat.1. Although, everyone is preparing for death and destruction. We already had our hurricane kit ready...just need to head back to H.E.B. for cold beer and some bread. Got gas in the vehicles. Numerous flashlights and lanterns. Caleb and Christian got the plywood ready to hang later. Hurricane block party tonight on Redbud.

Will update through the night.

Serious Fishin'

Keith,

I read this on a fishin' magazine site. It reminds me of the people on the jetty with the generators, spotlights, and wagons with custom wheels vs. the guys down at the mouth of the jetty that were fishing like we were. I still believe that the fish can't distinguish between the guys who prepared and spent more money on equipment, and the guys who didn't.

Editor: " A good friend of mine likes to fly-fish. He ties many of his own flies. He makes his poles. His research continues online as to river flow rates, hatches, moon phases, the proper sacrifices to be made, and so on. If it is new and improved, he has it."
" I went to Wal-Mart and bought my pole out of a clearance cart that was jammed with 50 other poles. It cost $12. I got my reels on eBay and at garage sales. My fly is almost always a Royal Coachman with the wrong-size hook. I'm not cheap, just lazy."
" We both stand in the river and fish. I'm just whipping up a froth with my line and grinning lobe to lobe. My friend is studying the azimuth of the sun's glint on the eddy current behind a rock. The presentation must be just so. Somehow this makes me grin just a little bigger. We both release our fish we caught and this makes us both smile(the fish, too)."

Dos Hermanos Lawn Service

I gotta admit, It's not too bad being down. Caleb has been helping out alot. He and Christian mowed the yard for me and did a damn good job. I told them they should start a business. I think they just wanted to hurry and get done so they could play their DS' though.
