Life's Been Good

I meant to blog this last week, but I forgot. I had the pleasure of driving a car like this at my friend Al's shop(Al was my boss a few years ago). He knows I like these alot. Maserati's have always been my favorite when it comes to supercars or exotics. This is the Gran Turismo. I especially like the 4-door Quattroporte the best. I believe they still hand build most of the car...or it seems so. The leather and stitching is far better than any other foreign vehicle I've seen. And they scream...185+
They always remind me of the Joe Walsh lyrics..."My Maserati does 185, I lost my license and now I don't drive".

Gastritis and Hiatal Hernia Overnight Diet

Well I've lost 10 pounds since last Friday. The "bland food in small portions diet". What a concept. No coffee, no beer, no fatty or fried foods, no anything that's good. I think the lack of coffee is what's hurting me the most. It's almost noon and I'm still in a daze. Oh well, it's got to be better for me.
and I miss Luna's...which probably helped get me here.

Spring Creek Off Road

This hill was very steep.
Now I know why they call the Jeep the "Hummer Recovery Vehicle". We went through and over stuff that I wouldn't have thought it could handle. Caleb had fun too. We gotta lot of cleaning to do. There's even mud in the A/C vents. Caleb laughed so hard every time we almost got stuck, that he almost peed his pants.
Takin' a break.
Caleb had fun in the water.

The forest.

Got a little hung up, but we figured it out. It was see-sawing on the left front and right rear wheels...and the front was stuck in the mud. I threw a log under the right front and it backed out.
Rock Crawler hills.

The river that runs through the property.

Porky

The cat. What a life. I don't think he's moved all day. He looks exhausted. I'm not sure why.

Rage Against the Machine

Had a fast one pulled on me today. Too long of a story to explain, but I was blinded. I did finally catch on. Gonna have to step it up a notch...sit in my thinking chair...eat more peanuts...;)

SHELBY COBRA

My friend Rod, from Rod's Auto Collision, just finished this car. It is flawless and probably the nicest kit car that I've ever seen. He is doing these for a company that makes these body molds. They retail starting at $75K...depending on motor, tranny, and rear end. But forget that. The body and paint is flawless. If you've never seen a raw plastic mold of a kit car, they are very, very rough. Every gap is on this thing was made perfect by Rod. And the paint job is within the top 5 I've ever seen. Maybe just behind that white GTO I did for Bob in Austin :). Anyway, Rod is a true craftsman, artist, and successful independent business owner. He supports his family and is putting his daughters through college doing this. And not to mention, he won't rip you off or bullshit you when you need something fixed the right way.
This is why I love automobiles. Great job Rod.

P.S. only 635 HP at 2300lbs.
What gas crunch?

Speed Racer

Hey Bubba...Look at my new car!

Munchkin get'n up to high speeds.

Jack

Keith and I mounted the Hi-Lift jack that I got for Father's Day to the frame on the Jeep. It was not easy, but finally it's lined up perfectly. Painted the gas tank shield and frame cross-member.

Sofia's Birthday Party

We went to Sofia's 1st birthday party in Conroe on Saturday. Munchkin had a blast. She played in the pool, went down the waterslide and conquered the Hello Kitty pinata.
