I was thinking on the drive home today...
how it's been forced upon us by the media that we have it soooo bad. Times are rough. Economy's bad. Can't pay the bills. 401K's down.
Yet...
I see so many newer model vehicles on the road than ever in history. Eating out is a minimum once a week. Everyone has cable TV. EVERYONE AND THIER KIDS have a cell phone. Most have computers with internet. What else? Times are bad.
There are people currently collecting unemployment and welfare that have more than most of us did growing up. Seriously.
I don't remember my parents buying new cars. Eating out was a treat. They took leftovers to work the next day. Does anyone eat leftovers anymore?
Yeh, times are hard now.
We're at a small bump in the road. Everyone's been living the high life for so long...including me.
QUIT COMPLAINING THAT TIMES ARE ROUGH!
Gotta go. Gotta go watch cable on my flat screen.

Started on the fence replacement today. Turned out to be fun. I have a plan and cost estimate. Long way to go. Shoulda hired a few undocumented workers to dig the holes though. That's the worst part.
Almost forgot about the state of our nation this weekend...almost. No Wall Street tomorrow. Thank God.

Tune-Up
I did the $150 dealer tune-up myself tonight. It's fun. Everything on this bike comes off with an Allen head wrench. Kinda hard to get the oil filter out, though. Japanese hands put it in there. Found where the mouse was living last winter...on the crankcase.
Fixed the idle problem. Runs like brand new.

TV coincidentally went out during Ike. It wasn't left plugged in. It's only 17 years old? Anyway, got our use out of it. I broke down and bought a liquid crystal flat screen. I'm amazed with it. Andi's cousin, Greg has a HUGE, badass, LG. After seeing the quality of that brand and the features, versus any of the others, I already had decided that's what I wanted. Only much, much, smaller. Plus, his company (TI), I think, makes the chips that go in them...and I have a few shares of TI stock, too.
I love this TV. I don't even watch TV. I spent four hours in front of it Friday night.
