I HATE RACKET INSURANCE COMPANIES -PAGE 6,247
My mortgage company placed forced Windstorm Insurance on my house because I can't get an insurance company to write a policy for my roof. (It's old and doesn't have some bullshit government compliance certificate that is required after 1980 something.) I've gone down every avenue to try and take care of it without just spending cash to re-roof completely. (because in reality it does not need it) My house payment will go up $300 per month starting back from July something. What do I do? Buy a new roof or foreclose?
Then the light bulb went off. There is another hurricane in the Gulf. Whether it does just a little damage to the shingles OR rips the whole freakin' roof off, THEY have coverage on it now. THEY get to put on a new roof. I then have a certificate, a new roof, and get a cheap policy...no problem.
I'M GAMBLING ON GUSTAV!

First Day of School
Projekt Revolution
Hey Vetter,
Chis Cornell joined up with Chester Bennington of Linkin Park on Saturday....they sang a few songs from Temple of the Dog. Then he was on the radio this morning talkin' about hangin' with Eddy Vedder and Kurt Cobain back in the Soundgarden days. I heard it was one of the best shows ever in Houston.

THE MOSQUITOS ARE TAKING OVER
I don't think they've been this bad since Allison. Poor monkey has bites all over her face. Where's the DEET truck?

Poets and Pirates
We went to the Poets and Pirates concert on Saturday. I don't remember the first guy. Gary Allen rocked...He was my favorite. He's definitely a pirate. Tattoos and 'The Clash' shirt. Bass guitarist wearing a kilt. Look up The Clash if you don't know who they are. No one else could've pulled that off at a country concert. Anyway, I think everyone took a smoke, pee, and drink lots of beer break during Lee Ann Rimes. The girls liked Keith Urban...I missed him. Kenny Chesney was really good. He's the entertainer. Terry enjoyed him most of all, so that's what really mattered. She's his biggest fan...I'm sure of it. It was a really cool, large concert. Angela and I drank lots and lots of beer. We paid a good portion of Reliant's mortgage payment.

Redbud Hooter
Andi and Keith were making not so convincing owl sounds too, while I was taking pics...like nothing I've heard before. He must've been confused, cause he stayed awhile.
I think he may be a Barred Owl or a Short Eared Owl.

Trombone
I invested in a very nice, new trombone for Caleb. I was impressed how delicately he handled it and how he removed all the fingerprints before he put it up. He's really excited. I think he'll do well. Maybe a scholarship to UT or one of those other schools:).
He's been playing guitar this week all day while he's home too.

Lots of Rain
Nothing much came of the storm. Just lots of rain. I saw a reporter splashing in a puddle in a corner of a parking lot in Galveston, making it look like it was flooding. We got lucky again.

Serious Fishin'
Keith,
I read this on a fishin' magazine site. It reminds me of the people on the jetty with the generators, spotlights, and wagons with custom wheels vs. the guys down at the mouth of the jetty that were fishing like we were. I still believe that the fish can't distinguish between the guys who prepared and spent more money on equipment, and the guys who didn't.
Editor: " A good friend of mine likes to fly-fish. He ties many of his own flies. He makes his poles. His research continues online as to river flow rates, hatches, moon phases, the proper sacrifices to be made, and so on. If it is new and improved, he has it."
" I went to Wal-Mart and bought my pole out of a clearance cart that was jammed with 50 other poles. It cost $12. I got my reels on eBay and at garage sales. My fly is almost always a Royal Coachman with the wrong-size hook. I'm not cheap, just lazy."
" We both stand in the river and fish. I'm just whipping up a froth with my line and grinning lobe to lobe. My friend is studying the azimuth of the sun's glint on the eddy current behind a rock. The presentation must be just so. Somehow this makes me grin just a little bigger. We both release our fish we caught and this makes us both smile(the fish, too)."
